Practicing Overview

Picture
“But I can’t practice – the cat’s sitting on my music!”
When I practice, I am in the moment, in the music. I focus on the notes and instrument in front of me, the sensations I feel and sounds that I hear. Any worries from the day are swept away as I find my voice expressing something new, even in the beauty of music written long ago.
I encourage you to dedicate time each day to practicing warm-ups, songs, and creative exercises. With practice, you will:
  • Master beautiful music
  • Reinforce musical skills learned in lessons
  • Build muscle strength
  • Experience increased confidence and satisfaction
  • Bring balance to your daily life
  • Continue to grow as an expressive musician, creative person, and performer
Making beautiful music is a journey, and practicing is the next step.
